Why manufacturers lean towards Dongle life than making a hole in the phone for a 3.5mm headphone Jack | LifeBeingPractical

In a matter of a few years dongles has very promptly become a major part of smartphone user's life's and it becomes a pain to carry an extra pair of the dongle to plug-in the wired headphones that usually most to the common public still uses. So why still manufacturers lean towards Dongle life than making a hole in the phone for a 3.5mm headphone jack?

Why manufacturers lean towards Dongle life than making a hole in the phone for a 3.5mm headphone Jack

Why Dongle life?

In 2017 when Apple launched it's iPhone 7 they announced for the first time the bad news of the century in the smartphone world which was removed of the headphone jack and gave the reason to be lack of space in the new device. In order to make the iPhone more slime they couldn't fit the jack in they said.
But, Also announced their first-ever Bluetooth Earphones known as the Airpods retails at $150-$160. Before announcing Airpods, people thought the lack of space was a genuine reason but after announcing the Airpods it was quickly understood by everyone that Apple was trying to push people on the buying their Airpods for $160. And it wasn't any late than that for other manufacturers to pick up the pace and follow Apple's footsteps.

Now, to say that there wasn't enough space for little headphone jack when manufacturers are fitting in fans in their phones is a bummer. The real reason that very few people talks about is pure business and that in no way shape or form is bad if a company thinks about its growth that's shouldn't offend anyone. But, the launch of all these different wireless Earphones signifies the removal of the headphone jack.

With the removal of the headphone jack, there has been both negative and positive impact :
Negative being, not every consumer can afford to pay 100-200 bucks extra to become wireless and dongle life really pisses some people off.

Positive being, Wireless Earphones are in a sense portable and clean whereas, wired headphones get all messy, tangled & breaks when bending in the wrong direction. Also, wired headphone is not really a good option when doing exercise or in the gym. Wired headphones are sensable more when sitting still.

But, none the less having an option to plug-in the wired headphones at will should be an option given as I said not everyone can afford to pay extra to get the wireless experience and who can will buy whatever the companies launch regardless of whether an extra feature is included or excluded. So, why force a thing when the results are the same if not forced.

I don't see that day far when companies will remove the charging port to promote wireless charging pads and charge like $200-$300 extra for a pair. And the reason being lack of space.

No one is really ever constrained from showing their capabilities, you just have to calm your mind start exploring - Ashraf
